Is it ok to wish someone a "happy divorce"? First time somebody in my social circle divorces. Don't know what the social norms are. FTR: she seems happy with it, her soon-to-be-ex-husband talks bad about her. But I don't really know him so I only hear one side of the story. Anyway I was right 15y ago when I doubted the chances of a relation with somebody from the country of her grandparents.

I heard or read something recently about people having divorce parties, like the opposite of an engagement party. It really depends on the person, though. Even if you want a divorce, it can still be a very stressful time because of all the legal issues. You would know better than we would if wishing this person a happy divorce is appropriate.

"Happy Divorce" sounds ridiculous. Even if a divorce is the best thing for both parties it still isn't something to be celebrated. At that point why not just say "Hey congratulations on finally fixing your really stupid decision!" Same thing.
