Can someone please explain to me how depression is a real thing and not just something big pharma came up with to justify use of antidepressants = make more money ? I've met quite a few people that keep telling me they're depressed and they're "working" on it with medication and therapy and what not .. I find it pathetic. If I was to consider their symptoms as signs of depression..

..I should've been on antidepressants for years. Maybe it's because that where I grew up, depression was nothing more than feeling bored/blue and was easily cured with beer, laughter, parties and getting laid, not with meds. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but please make me understand/believe in depression, if there really is such a thing.

i feel the same way. i think that there CAN be people that need antidepressants because they have a chemical inbalance but i think that thoes people are also the people who commit suicide and need more than just meds and therapy. when im sad i find something productive to do and move on. people on antidepressents just want/need more attention.

I have almost the same things to say as you two already did. I think we live in an age where everything can be cured with a pill. Instead of exercising and eating good food, people take diet pills and supplements. Instead of curing "the blues" people take pills for depression. As said before, some people do have chemical imbalances, but many more would rather take a pill than address the...

underlying problems that are causing their mood. Lack of exercise, boredom, lack of sex, unemployment, etc can cause "depression" and too many people would rather take a pill to make it go away than actually fix their problems.

Avatar (the IMAX experience): Waste of money if you're not into Sci-Fi, CGI and bad scripts. I'm a geek so the CGI blew my f****** mind.

No, but I saw the movie and the character animation is amazing, it's like they're real, living actors. Go see it, you'll know what I mean. Pandora looks epic.

Pandora is the name of planet. I didn't know Pandora was a book...I thought it was a reference to The Greek Mythological character Pandora...as in Pandora's box. I suppose I could be mistaken. I'd see the movie however I'm more broke than most Microsoft Applications.

My ex has been calling me in the past weeks to see how I've been and shit like that. I confronted her about it and she said she just wants to be friends and talk from time to time, which I don't because she hurt me badly and I want her out of my life. My guts tell me it's wrong, but I need other opinions: is it ok to go back to "being just friends" with an ex that I still have feelings for ? Or..

..will it just cause more pain ?

nessa replied 3 months ago

If you still have feelings for her than I think it would be unhealthy for you to be in the friend zone with her, especially if she hurt you in the past. I mean she might have good intentions and sincerely wants to be friends with you, but from what you have said I believe it would be kind of painful for you.

it's never a good idea to be in contact with an ex that you ended it badly with, besides it will be so much easier for her to f*** with your feelings if you two stay in contact...
